Interesting how Dean is a well-behaved little boy. I do love that fact. Of course, Dean would want to help. I would suspect he helped Mary as well.
So, just a question - in your mind with these fics, does Dean have any memory of being older, or is his mind wiped clean. Or would this be a Dean who had just recently lost his mother. Curious to know where Dean would be in these.
In my mind, Dean was mentally regressed to his five-year-old self, so he had recently lost his mother, though a little time had passed, and I decided this was during his not wanting to talk much phase. Part of the good behavior was probably that he was just kind of overwhelmed at this time in his life anyway, and now he was in a new place with strangers. In my experience, in a new environment, some kids are a lot calmer than they might normally be, and I went in that direction with Dean.
Perfect. I suspected that his mind regressed to the 5-year-old, but I wanted to be sure. I feel so much pain for our little Dean as that little boy. So much loss at such a young age, and in such a hard way. I can see that Dean would be well-behaved in this circumstance.
Thanks! I liked the idea of a progressively more open Dean as he spent more time with Jody and her enjoying getting him to come out of his shell. I'm glad it came across well!
