I think that the tiny bit of deity left in him caused him to age very slowly and gave him the opportunity to live through this past year with us. At that point he realized what a SOB he is.

This is great! I love the thought of even Chuck finding a redemption arc and coming to understand what he did was wrong.

Brilliant! It's nice to think that Chuck can finally see the error of his ways. And that song choice is perfect!

As I said elsewhere, I think having to live through 2020 with the rest of us showed him that his creation is strong enough to live on without him 'writing us' into his soap operas and much more entertaining.
