Hungry Like The Wolf 03/?
The moment lips touched his Jensens heart stopped. He wanted to push Jared away, he knew this was wrong, but the softness in the lingering touch had his eyes fluttering closed and kissing back as best he could. As first kisses went Jensen thought that this had to be the most perfect. Jareds’ lips were soft, and when he felt a tongue touch his lips gently, felt himself go weak at the knees and open his own lips in silent supplication. Jared deepened the kiss, and explored Jensens’ mouth like it was a lost continent or the lost city of Atlantis. It was a wonder and a gift and Jared treated it as such. When he pulled away he touched his forehead to Jensens, smiled softly even though a fire burned deep in the hazel orbs, to Jensen it seemed like they were glowing,
“I promise you, that I will never, NEVER let anyone hurt you again’’
“I believe you’’ Jensen replied just as quietly, and he did. The truth was there right in front him, in the barely contained straining muscle. Jared cupped the back of his head and kissed him again softly, when he pulled back he ran a finger over Jensen cheek,
“You look really sweet when you blush, it makes your freckles glow like stars’’, Jensen felt his cheeks burn brighter but he couldn’t have stopped the smile that came to his face if he’d tried. Not even if his life depended on it. Jared grinned back, his dimples carved into his cheeks like little crescent moons. Jensen raised a shaky finger and touched them softly,
“I...I like your dimples’’ Jared laughed, the sound was loud in the quiet of the room, it startled Jensen briefly till he laughed too.
“I don’t know that I can let you go’’ Jared whispered, Jensen met his eyes, all the laughter gone now,
“I.......you have to. I wish...’’ Jensen stopped himself, what he wanted didn’t matter, he didn’t have a choice, he had to marry Danneel, didn’t he?
“What do you wish?’’ Jared asked quietly, Jensen sighed heavily and stepped out of the comforting embrace he’d been held in,
“I wish things could be different, I wish I could come here, that we could be friends, but if’’ he swallowed the lump of fear that had lodged in his throat “If father finds out Jared, he’ll kill me, I know he will. I have to go, I shouldn’t have come back again’’ moving to leave the room, Jared reached for him, and held onto the wrist tightly,
“Please don’t go, not yet. Stay a while, I’ve got more things for you to read up on, I...’’ Jensen turned, his eyes meeting Jareds, he smiled softly,
“Okay. I know I shouldn’t, but....’’
“But?’’ Jared asked; hope flaring in his chest,
“But, I don’t think I can leave yet either. So I’ll stay for just a while longer.’’
A while longer actually turned into a few hours, the sun was dipping below the horizon by the time Jensen left the library, and Jared, no matter how much Jensen protested would not let him walk all the way back to the commune alone. The walk back was far too short for Jensens liking, Jared kept twining their fingers together and Jensen just didn’t have it in him to pull away. The touch gave him a warmth that he’d never felt before and if he was being honest with himself, he never wanted to let go of. They stood on the outskirts of the commune, Jared with his fingers gripping tightly onto Jensens,
“Come away with me’’ Jared whispered softly, Jensen startled
“What?’’ he stuttered out, he wasn’t sure he had heard correctly, Jared span them so that Jensens back was against one of the trees, he cupped his face gently, brushing his cheekbones with his thumbs, staring intently into eyes that had captured him from the very first moment he’d looked into them,
“I said come away with me, to my home, to my family. We can protect you, keep you safe, I.....I know that we haven’t known each other long, hell it’s been two days if you wanna count how many times I’ve actually seen you, but.....’’ Jared swallowed his eyes brimming with tears, “But I love you Jensen, I love you so God damn much that it hurts to be away from you. It’s like you’re the shore and I’m the ocean, I’m pulled to you, we’re meant to be, I can feel it, can’t you feel it?’’
Jensen could feel it, he could feel it from the top of his tingly head to the bottom of his curling toes, but he knew that father would never let him get away, he’d never be free, and worse still it would put Jared at risk. Jared wasn’t one of the family, if the punishment Jensen had received was severe then the one Jared was given would be ten times worse. Jensen couldn’t and wouldn’t risk it. Plus he couldn’t let his mother down, she’d been wanting to him married and settled for so long, to do anything else would kill her, Jensen couldn’t do that to his own mother.
Jared knew what Jensen was going to say before he said it, the light that had been shining in his eyes dimmed and the smile that had been flittering on his face diminished, it was like watching a light bulb flicker away before it died, he took a step away, even though his fingers still lightly touched the hairs at the nape of Jensens neck,
“I can’t’’ he whispered brokenly “There are so many people who can be hurt by this if I do, if I come away with you’’
“Is it because of what I am?’’ Jared asked, he stood to his full height, his size dwarfing the smaller man, but Jensens face only showed confusion,
“Because you’re a man?’’ he asked uncertain “In a way, father would never accept us, the family would never accept us, we’d be hunted down like...like....’’
“Werewolves and vampires?’’ Jared enquired with a raised brow, Jensen nodded “What if I told you I was a wolf, that if you joined me, became part of my pack your father would never get near you again’’, Jensen looked startled, he raised shocked eyes to his friend, his only friend who he felt so much for “Would it change your opinion of me to know that I’m a wolf? That I come from a long line of wolves? Would you tell your father about me Jensen? Help him hunt me down? Kill me?’’
“NO!” Jensen yelled horrified “I could never hurt you, I love you! You don’t understand Jay, father...he’d kill you! Not for being a wolf, not even for being a man although that sure wouldn’t help. He’d kill you because you weren’t one of his flock. It’d kill me if anything happened to you, and my mom...she’s wanted this for so long Jared, I can’t hurt her, I can’t!’’
“And what about you?’’ Jared asked softly as he held a trembling Jensen in his arms, “What do you want?’’
“It doesn’t matter what I want’’ Jensen mumbles as he wiped the tears from his face, Jared tipped his chin up with two fingers,
“Humour me, what would, what do you want?’’ Jensen sighed and wrapped his arms around Jareds waist,
“I want to hold onto you forever, I want to be with you always, I want my mom to be happy for me, to be safe from father, I......I don’t want to marry Danneel, I don’t even like her all that much. But I can’t go back on it, I have to do it.’’
Taking a deep breath he stepped away from the warm comforting embrace,
“I can’t see you again Jared, maybe in another life, another time we could have been together. I...I love you’’ he whispered touching his fingers to Jareds jaw,
“No’’ Jared said roughly, “I won’t let you do this!’’ he pulled Jensen to him, kissing him roughly, he felt Jensen struggling against him and deepened the kiss, the struggling tapered off until Jensen was pliant and trembling in his arms “I love you damn it! I can keep you safe, we can even get your mother, take her away with us! We can be happy!’’
“I can’t!! Please...stop!’’
“Never!! Jared whispered hoarsely “I’ll never give up because I love you, will always love you, and I’m going to keep coming back until to say yes or shoot me dead!’’
“You’re a stubborn asshole’’ Jensen said breathlessly, but Jared saw something different in those shimmering jade pools, he saw..................
“Okay, I’ll come away with you, but not tonight, I have to speak to my mom, I don’t know if she’ll come with us, and I hope she can forgive, but God help me I love you, I do, how can what I’m feeling be wrong?’’
“It isn’t. It’s a blessing Jen. How long do you need?’’
“Give me till the full moon, that’s 3 nights from now, I’ll meet you just outside the compound.’’
Grinning Jared pulled Jensen to him tightly and hugged the breath out of him, they both laughed, then kissed softly,
“I have to go, I’ll see you 3 nights from now’’
“I’ll be waiting for you’’ Jared whispered as he kissed his mate one last time. He watched until Jensen was out of sight then turned back towards home.
Danneel stepped out from the shadows of a large tree, her brown eyes narrowed in hate and disgust, if Jensen thought he was going to get away with this he had another thing coming
Apologies for the lateness in getting this out, I've been, ill, worked like a demon, been ill again, and had to work some more, so my writing has taken a back seat!!
