Summary: Dean makes Sam to give his word for a few things that made him tight.
Somehow it didn't come as a surprise that Dean wanted to sit down and talk to him. There were not many day's left before Dean's respite would be over. Both had feared it. Sam had tried to found a way to break Dean's deal without getting himself killed, but he had been too eager and paid the price for it.
Dean sounded happy in one way and that was because Sam could not continue the search. Sam had asked Bobby to try to find anything, but the older man seemed to stall which Sam guessed that was because Dean asked him to.
Now Dean had made them sit down. Dean had taken Sam's hands, so he would know that Dean was there.
"I want you to promise a few things." Dean started.
Sam could have objected, or said he didn't want to make any promising, but kept silent.
"You know there isn't that many hours left," Dean paused, "And I don't want you or Bobby go to a cross-roads demon to bring me back. I want you to not try to find how to get me out of hell. Can you promise me that?"
If Dean hadn't held his hands tight Sam would have drawn them to himself. Dean known him quite well that he would try all he could. Sam continues to not say anything. He had to think really hard. He was very uncertain if he would be able to keep a promise for that. He was long way from ready to be able to stand alone.
"Please, Sam. It would feel so much better knowing that by promising that you can try to live a more normal life."
"Normal life?" Sam pulled on his hands. "How the hell do you think being fucking blind would be normal? You should never have made the deal and let me be dead."
"Fuck Sam, don't say so."
"If you felt you could not live without me how do you think I'm fee… feeling?" Sam's voice broke.
Dean hugged Sam. "I really want you to promise me, please."
"I would if I could. What are the others?"
Dean didn't move as he continued to tell what else he wished Sam to promise. He wanted his brother to do things for him to be able to reach what could be normal for him. Those things were a lot easier for Sam to promise, though he didn't want to say how long it would take.
From Dean's body Sam could feel that when he had promise his brother things was more relaxing.
