Holy. Cow. This gave me chills. I love how...slowly it built. Just syrupy and sweet and slow. The boy don't have anywhere else to be (and I really have to have a giggle at the image of Dean wrangling chickens, because I know from personal experience that it is NOT as easy as it sounds), and they're just content.

I think this is one of the best curtain fics I've ever read. Their retirement from hunting was sudden and abrupt and tragic, and they didn't handle it well, but they healed.

And this: Dean helped Sam with physical therapy. Sam learned how to talk without withholding things. It’s funny--he knows people view him as the more open brother, more in-tune with his emotions, but the truth of the matter is that he’s all fucked on the inside.

Both of them, growing and figuring themselves out, is just beautiful. Well done!

Absolutely beautiful. I have chills, I mean serious chills! A permanent disability is something extremely difficult to pull off in fanfic and make it worth the pain, worth the journey. You've earned their happy ending here and damn but I'm leaking from my eyeballs. Wonderful work :D
