Artist Sign-Ups 2017

Welcome to the post for people who would like to create art for this challenge!

Artists will be expected to turn in at least one (1) piece of new art by Monday, September 18th.

Early Bird Exception: Artists who wish to submit up to two (2) prompts must complete and submit one (1) prompt by Monday, September 4th. Otherwise, only one (1) prompt will be allowed per artist.

Sign-ups for artists will close on Sunday, September 3rd.

Art should be unpublished elsewhere and completed. You may still make changes, but the art should be complete enough that a writer could work from it even if no changes are made. This art will be posted anonymously, along with a sentence or two about your pairings (if any), maximum rating, squicks, and a short text description of the piece (optional). Please note: the description is not meant to be a story prompt or request. Your art is there to inspire the author, not dictate terms.

Authors will then go on to claim art to write for, similar to the way artists claim authors' summaries in regular Bang challenges.

Authors will write a story of at least 3,000 words inspired by the art, and posting will begin Friday, November 10th.

Drawings, paintings, digital manips, crafts and fanvids are all allowed as submissions. Art must be at least 400px by 600px, or at least 30 seconds in length if you are submitting a fanvid.

It is encouraged that artists have their work reviewed by an art beta. You may refer to our beta sign-up post to contact people who have volunteered to help out, or use your own betas.

Due to the way art claims are set up, it would be difficult to ensure that an author would be familiar with an additional source of canon. It has also proven to be extremely difficult to find pinch-hitters. Therefore, this year crossovers and fusions are not allowed to be specified/requested.

Additionally, the underaged, real-life children of the actors are not to be included in this event.

To sign up, please leave a comment on this post with your user name, the URL of the primary journal you'll be using (LJ, DW, tumblr or AO3) and a reliable e-mail address.

Everyone who wishes to participate should join and watch the community either here or at Dreamwidth, to make sure they do not miss important deadlines or updates to the challenge. We will also post abridged notifications on tumblr, directing participants to check LJ and DW for announcements.

Also, please don't repost the art to tumblr, DeviantArt, etc. until after it has been united with its fic and an official masterpost has been made, as a finished collaboration. After that, post all over the place!

If you have any questions, please check the FAQs before commenting here, sending an email to spnreversemod@gmail.com or sending a PM to spnreversemod.

Thanks, and have fun!
