REQUEST: Sam/Dean - labor/birth, single parenting, surprise baby - fic

When Sam left for Stanford he didn't realize that he was not only breaking Dean's heart, but leaving him pregnant as well. Not that Dean knew he was pregnant when Sam walked out the door, but he figured it out soon enough.
Dean knows that he can't tell anyone, not his father, certainly not Sam. There are a lot of things out there that are gunning for the Winchesters, and Dean is particularly vulnerable while pregnant. So Dean uses the time that he has to go on "solo" hunts and find some place where he can have his baby alone.
Then next time anyone see Dean he has a car seat in his baby and leather baby bjorn strapped to his front, and he has been on a hunt for almost a year. Dean doesn't want to go see Sam, Sam left him after all, but his brother should meet his awesome kid.

It took Dean two days to get out of bed after Sam left for Standford. He left the house the family had been squatting in and went to the nearest truck stop for a good, long hot shower. Dad never knew the exact nature of his and Sam's relationship, hell, if he'd known about it, he would have found someway to stop it. Dean knew that it was wrong on so many levels, but who else would there have been for either of them? Dad had long ago stopped taking care of his boys, leaving Dean to care for Sam and Dean to pretty much take care of himself. The lack of sex wasn't what hurt him the most. It was the pain that his brother didn't even think that maybe, just maybe, Dean might have wanted to be a part of his escape. Okay, bullshit there, but it was the thought therein.
To add insult to injury, dad had also taken off to who the fuck knew where. Double abandonment. He'd done everything for the pair of them. Followed orders from his father, no questions asked. He'd nursed Sam through nearly everything, from teething to chicken pox

Dean spent months looking for a safe place to hide during his final months of pregnancy. Dad had finally accepted his eldest was old enough to be on his own for hunts and had used the opportunity to go deep into some hunts of his own. Dean hadn't seen his father since August. It was now February and he found himself once again, squatting in a house. He curled his knees up towards his chin as another contraction ripped through his body, bringing a whimper. He was lying on a makeshift bed in the middle of a room with iron fixtures in the walls and the bed was surrounded by seven rings of salt. He was glad he was in an interior room, the wicked winter weather outside didn't make the room as cold as it could have been. Dean was thoroughly convinced that the baby was going to be a lot safer out of him than inside of him. He panted through the next contraction, his mind going over names in his head again. Aaron, Eric, James, John, Samuel...Eric. I like Eric. Oh shit, what if he's a she? Not going to name her after mom. Not Mary.

“I don't know what to tell you, Sam.” The pastor sounded tired. “No one has heard or seen your brother since last October. It's like he just vanished.”
“Did dad even bother to look“Your father was closing in on the demon, Sam.” The pastor let out a sigh. “God rest his soul, he knew killing that thing would also be the death of him as well

“Sammy?” Dean was inwardly cursing. He'd not exactly planned on how he'd meet his brother, but not like this.
“Dean...” Sam closed the distance between them and then sat down on the bench, half expecting his brother to rise. “I.... guess you heard about dad.”
“Yeah.” He kept his focus on his girl, who'd turned her gaze towards Sam. “I did.”
Sam swallowed. “Uh... cute kid.”
“Yeah, yeah she is.” Dean smiled.
“Funny, I don't remember you having a girlfriend last time...”
“Sam.” Dean swallowed hard, figuring it best to just come out and say it. “Bonnie... well, I'm the one who gave birth to her.”
“You...” Sam had heard of such things and with what went in the Winchester's lives, this was entirely possible. “So...” He suddenly put two and two together. “You mean... she's mineDean sighed, rubbing the back of the girl's head. “I didn't know when you left, Sam. I don't think it'd have made any difference. You were leaving, no matter what

Sam found himself unable to do anything but lean against the railing of the motel crib, staring down at his sleeping daughter. She looked so small, so fragile - even at eight months she looked so tiny. Dean was out like a light in the bed behind him. He couldn't blame him, if his brother had been taking care of Bonnie with no help what so ever. The man had to be exhausted. He knew it'd be a very, very long time before his brother completely forgave him, if he ever did. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! This OP loves!
This was just the story that I was thinking of when I wrote my prompt - Dean alone, but taking every care for his new family; Of course Dean knows what's important, but when Sam and John left him in the show, Dean didn't have anything other then the hunt, but giving him Bonnie, Dean got an out from the life that he could actually envision taking. I love all of this so much.
And Sam, poor Sam, I love how he's making it up to Dean, and Bonnie, by deciding to be there for his family.

Okay, I'm not allowed to get all teary-eyed and sappy reading an mpreg prompt fill, am I? But that was just so damn touching. And there's nothing wrong with being a Rebel! :)

This was just the story that I was thinking of when I wrote my prompt - Dean alone, but taking every care for his new family; Of course Dean knows what's important, but when Sam and John left him in the show, Dean didn't have anything other then the hunt, but giving him Bonnie, Dean got an out from the life that he could actually envision taking.
