And I've spent a weird amount of time thinking about the circumstances under which Dean would have seen Totoro. And has Sam seen it, too, or was his an expression of 'wtf are you even talking about Dean (as usual)??' XD

The original English dub got released in 1993, when Dean was fourteen. So, too old for a babysitter to have introduced it to them, probably. From whom did he get the tape, then?

Unless the Winchesters knew someone who had a bootlegged Japanese VHS (Bobby????), which is now an idea I'm also kind of attached to. XD
