Was going to make this a Thanksgiving weekend thing, but I think lots of folks are going to be really busy, and it may be more fun to stretch things out a bit anyway.
Here's the deal: Under the cut are some prompt tables. Each table has 5 holiday-related words/phrases that you can use as inspiration for writing a drabble. What's a drabble? A drabble is exactly 100 words. No more. No less. Sometimes it's a real challenge, but they can be lots of fun. They are definitely an interesting excercise if you've never tried one before.
See the pretty 2013 Calendars up there? All authors who complete a table (5 drabbles) between now and December 31 will be entered into a drawing. The winner will receive their choice of one of those calendars. Don't like any of the tables? No problem, you can mix and match between them to come up with your 5 drabbles. You may post your drabbles separately or all in one go, just please tag them with the 'holiday drabble challenge' tag. After you've completed and posted your 5 drabbles, PM me (
lolaann1) so that I can include you in the drawing. Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep up with it otherwise. So, please help me out J We modly types are welcome to drabble as well, but we won't be eligible for the drawing, obviously.
Just remember to keep your drabbles within the spirit of the comm and HAVE FUN!!!
Yes, my html could be prettier, but I'm a notoriously lazy coder.
