Summary: Why does Sam try to argue with Dean?
“Batman.”
“Superman.”
“Batman would kick Superman’s butt.”
Sam didn’t know why he participated in these conversations with Dean, but sometimes he couldn’t help himself. “Dean…Superman is a super-charged alien with super strength, super speed and the ability to fly. Batman is just a guy with cool gadgets.”
“Yeah, and any one of those ‘cool gadgets’ with a kryptonite tip would bring Superman to his knees.” Dean leaned back against the couch like that was the end of the argument and tipped back his head to take a swig of beer.
Sam placed, he didn’t slam he placed, his beer on the coffee table and turned toward his brother. “Your argument is invalid…”
“Your argument is invalid…” Dean mimicked.
Sam rolled his eyes expressively but ignored the bait. “Kryptonite is not a substance that just anyone can get their hands on…”
“That doesn’t seem to be a problem for all the bad guys.”
“And…you’re ignoring the fact that Superman is faster than a speeding bullet, so he could outrun anything Batman would shoot at him.”
Dean looked like he was going to jump in, but Sam steamrolled him. “AND we’re talking about hand to hand combat. Mano a mano. And in that case there’s no way that Batman would win that fight. He’s just a human. Supercharged alien is going to win that fight every time!”
Dean didn’t say anything, but acquiesced the win to Sam with a wave of his beer. Sam sat back on the couch. The next round was his to begin.
“Superman.”
Dean grinned. “Chuck Norris.”
Sam let his head fall back against the pillows. He was gonna need another beer.
