“What happened to the cookies?” Jody demands. “There’s only half of them left!”
“You should ask Claire,” Alex says, then looks a little shame-faced, “okay, I did have one.”
“Claire,” Jody yells up the stairs, “get your ass down here.”
“What’s up?” Claire slouches into the kitchen.
“Did you eat these cookies?” Jody points at the half-empty plate.
“Well no. not those cookies, they’re still there,” Claire shrugs.
“Cut the attitude,” Jody warns, “they were for Sam and Dean’s Christmas party.”
“Then I’ve done them a favor,” Claire replies, “at their age they shouldn’t be eating too much sugary stuff.”
