The V-Day Team Drabble Challenge - Five

Feb 14, 2018 16:01

I do believe these might just be my last five drabbles for this excellent brain tweaking challenge. To the mods, to the peeps who've taken part, to my team mates and my adversaries (;D) FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC work! Happy Valentines my beauts! ♥ Also, LOL! Did you know I've done 42 (I think) of these danged things, LOL! Turns out drabbling is actually quite cathartic ;)

Title: It’s a look.

Characters: Castiel.

Rating: PG

Word Count: 100

Summary: Scraps of material.

Bruised ego, bent and buckled wings, even a few busted ribs, but as long as Castiel’s wearing one, he’s still capable of dragging himself up and getting in the face of whatever creature that’s trying to break him in two that day.

It’s wholly ridiculous, really. Just a scraps of material, a few stitches thrown together to create something the Angel has never fully understood the need for, but Jimmy wore one and Castiel’s adopted the look.

He’s got quite the collection and without one he feels almost naked.

“It’s just a tie, Cas!”

“It was my favourite tie, Dean!”

Title: Comfort.

Characters: Crowley.

Rating: PG

Word Count: 100

Summary: I wouldn’t call him to decorate my house.

Rich, dark, scarred oak saturated with the blood and ash of all those who’ve displeased the Ex-King. Musty, dusty, decrepit and downright disgusting if you put too much thought into it, but Crowley never was one for normal.

Apparently that lack of normal stretches to his choice in home furnishings.

A beautifully decorated lounge with crisp white walls, plush thick carpets and decadent drapes. Candelabras and gothic mirrors line the walls, and nestled in the corner of the room Crowley’s spent months perfecting, is the throne he quite literally had to bewitch two of his ex-goons into helping him move.

Title: Loved and lived in.

Characters: Sam.

Rating: PG

Word Count: 100

Summary: Some things aren’t meant to be discarded.

One day Dean just stopped wearing it.

Sam doesn’t know why, he’s never been brave enough to ask.

It got thrown in the trunk of the car, languishing with spare gun clips, wet stones, and an ever expanding collection of empty matchboxes.

Thankfully Dean didn’t seem to notice it’s disappearance from the trunk.

Slipping it from his duffel, listening for Dean’s approaching footsteps, Sam takes a second to run his fingers over the cracks in the material.

One day Dean might want it back, but until then, Sam’s happy to give his brother’s beat up old leather jacket wardrobe space.

Title: Sweet music.

Characters: Sam and Dean.

Rating: PG

Word Count: 100

Summary: Some things really aren’t meant to be discarded.

It skips, jumps, and the needle needs replacing. It scratches every single record he puts on it, but he still refuses to buy a new one.

“Sammy, that thing is practically prehistoric. You know they have these places called shops where you can buy brand new turntables, right?”

Sam shakes his head and smiles at Dean’s gentle teasing, before slipping his worn and chipped copy of Status Quo’s Twelve Bar Blues from it’s sleeve. “Dean, some things aren’t meant to be replaced, renewed, or reinvented.”

“Where did you get that old thing?”

“One of Dad’s storage lockers. It was Mom’s.”

Title: Precious memories.

Characters: Sam.

Rating: PG

Word Count: 100

Summary: Sam’s a sentimental fool. He’s cool with it.

Sam will never admit it, never tell his brother he still has it, that it lives at the bottom of his duffel beneath the badly folded tees and jeans in need of serious repair or replacement.

Every time he digs around in his bag for something his fingers brush against the box and he smiles, remembers the look on Dean’s face when he ripped the wrapping paper off it.

If Dean ever finds out there’ll be months of being called Samantha and having his manliness called into question, but Sam just can’t bring himself to throw it away.
