[ a blonde-haired woman with crossed arms, a pair of gardening scissors tucked grasped tightly in one hand, viewed the map in Splendor's city hall with keen eyes. the seal she had found in her possession upon arrival was more loosely held in the opposite hand, and she uncrossed her arms to hold the curious device to her mouth as if it were a radio

[He's not exactly keen on explaining this place to people, but - something she said caught his attention.]

. . .Black biker? [couldn't be the same one, could it?]

[he hesitated at first as well, if only because it took a moment for him to decipher her somewhat shaky japanese. it was likely more difficult for someone like Shizuo anyway - her vocabulary was probably larger than his even though he had a better understanding of the language.

. . .well, that, coupled with the fact that everyone in Ikebukuro supposedly knew his name. in some cases, it wasn't a blessing to be well known.]

[ it was lucky for him, then, that she was too much of a foreigner to know his name. she had little to no interest in gossip and television was not a priority of hers either. the only news she heard was from newspapers and from the radio talk show Slon played in their van. she did not know the name Heiwajima Shizuo. until now. ]

[ it was only polite to respond with your own name after asking someone else's but it still left her uncertain to do so. she wasn't ever one to be concerned with being despised, whether it be for the strange manner in which she spoke or for her lack of manners. she would only answer if asked and nothing more. ]

[he normally wasn't concerned about learning other people's names - then again, that only really applied to the obnoxious residents of his hometown that weren't worth more than two minutes of his time.]

Yeah, it's good to meet you. Ah, your name was...

[ she's not face to face with him so it's not as if he can see her uncertainty, but she's looking around shiftily before speaking. hopefully one name would suffice. ]

[it seemed she didn't have the need to feel apprehensive. Shizuo wasn't overly concerned about the way people chose to introduce themselves - a single name was just fine. it certainly didn't sound very Japanese, but he'd already gotten than feeling from her just from their conversation, so it didn't seem unusual at all.]

Mm. You've found your key already, right?

[ it was easy enough for Vorona to lie to people from other worlds that she came from Ikebukuro but she knew she would not be convincing to a native. in which case, she would simply try to avoid the subject. ]

Affirmative; I have a key. What is its purpose?

[he exhales audibly; there's a "click" of a lighter on the other end of the seal.] Least they gave us all someplace to live.

[ the sound is recognizable to her; things like that became so when you spent all your time with illegal weapons dealers -- a tough crowd, so to speak. ]

Convenient, entrapment anticipated.

[ she takes a look at her key, examining the writing on it. it wouldn't be difficult to find her place of residence. she had more important things to do first though. ]

Yeah. There's tons of places full of people who ain't from around here. Makes you wonder why an empty city like this was even built.

Perhaps we are unwanted visitors.

[ she stuffs the key into her pocket, gives the map a final glance and heads off to look around a bit, still holding her seal to her ear. ]

Unwanted..? [he's about to say something along the line of they wouldn't be there if they were unwanted, but he thinks about that for a moment.] Huh. Explains why the locals don't like talking.
