Oh, that thing... does everyone have to come? A-and where do I get money? I didn't have any when I got here...

[Rion is trying to get used to using the seals, now, and he thinks he's got it right. Hopefully. Maybe. His 'voice' sounds like a higher-pitched tenor voice, though right now it's one that sounds really sad. This place doesn't make any sense and he doesn't like it but at least he hasn't... gotten hurt.

I think so. [What this actually means is 'no I'm really not at all but I guess I'll try since you seem nice'. He stays on her hand a little bit longer than is really comfortable for most people, but there doesn't seem to be any malice or creepering involved; he's just genuinely... not good at this.]

[Kyoko withdraws her hand, feeling a little bit awkward. This boy seems nice, albeit a little weird.]

[She takes a few steps down the street, holding back a bit to make sure Rion follows.]

And we're allowed to get anything we want? [There's excitement in his 'voice' but it's restrained excitement; he doesn't want to find out, after all, that this is some big joke.

He's following after her, though, keeping up with her. He feels a little weird about it all, though. This isn't something that he's used to, going shopping by himself (or really, with anyone but his mom), much less a girl. Who is also nice. ;;]

That's what my big brother told me.

[Kyoko is much more accustomed to going shopping with friends who rarely stop talking, so being with someone who is very quiet is a bit of a new and slightly odd experience for her.]

You have a big brother? Is the rest of your family here, too? [Well, he's not really going to start speaking up anytime soon; so far everything's been through the seal. Rion's eyes flick around, nervously - it makes him really uncomfortable to have the locals there and just ignoring them.]

Ah, no...just my big brother. But we're very close, so I'm grateful to have him here.

Do you have any friends here?

[There's a pause that probably tells Kyoko the answer moreso than the answer it takes him ten seconds to give.]

... no.

[Nobody he would really classify as a friend, anyway.]

[Ah. There's a bit of an awkward silence as it sinks in. Rion's still a stranger, though he seems like a harmless one. And apparently, rather lonely. Kyoko is friendly, but she's very much used to louder people, and well...you'd think he'd be a welcome change, but it actually weirded her out a bit.

She'll get used to it, though.]

Maybe this is a good opportunity to make new ones, then!

[Unfortunately, Rion is nowhere near as EXTREME as Kyoko might be used to, and even when he's not being scared and flaily and kind of a socially awkward kid he will never be that EXTREME.

He doesn't say for a few seconds, again, still just keeping pace behind her. It's only a little bit after he's had time to swallow what she said that his voice pops up again in her head.]
