[Cerbos made sure he snatched the control out of the man's hands immediately after they saw this message and his heart sank again. Cerbos could guess what would come next; whining and bargaining and angry rants directed at him, if not followed by a very, very stupid mistake.

The monster could simply throw the seal away or hide it until Jack stopped being so unproductive about this situation. He considered it, really, but the precious little birdboy might as well be graced by the monster's presence. See if he would finally get the message that Jack wanted to be left alone.

The image clicks on, showing Jack's face with Cerbos' smile, slowly stretching with an exhale before he speaks. Between the accent and choice of words, there's no mistake -- Jack is still not here.]
