I had hoped a city with as ridiculous a power as granting wishes would be able to relieve me of my boredom, but it appears not. Really, you all ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Is it really so difficult to keep a single lady entertained? Truly, it is a pity ( Read more... )

Where I'm from, it's possible to cause a hypothetically indefinite number of divergences. Time travel doesn't change anything, though it creates an alternate timeline.

To travel to the past and change the future would create an indefinite time loop I believe, but creating an alternate timeline would appear to be a solution to that.

It is, for good or ill.

Does it work the same way where you're from?

Hm... more or less I suppose. I had once created a divergence that both completed a time loop and converged with other timelines through the usage of time travel.

Time traveling is painful.

[Especially when you go rolling into things like street lamps or walls.]

Really now? Do tell of your experiences. [This sounds like it could be funny...]

Well, I have the strange ability to leap through time. Whenever I leap I go through this weird place with clocks and gears and this crazy tape. I always seem to roll through it though so when I exit in the past I keep rolling until I hit something... usually something hard. Like doors or street curbs.

Leaping? Rolling? [Okay yeah she's laughing.]

My word, I certainly hope you aren't referring to me, Rachel.

Certainly not. As I have said before, one who enjoys as delightful a drink as tea must always be good company as well.

I can't say I'm familiar with it, however there is such a thing as hyperresonance.

silpheeding June 21 2011, 06:04:15 UTC
Hyperresonance? I don't believe I've ever heard of it. Would you care to explain?

I come from a world which has no time.

silpheeding June 20 2011, 08:15:03 UTC
No time? Explain.

Days. Hours. Minutes.

The sun does not rise or fall.

The crumbling world simply decays.

Decays...? Hm, yes, I suppose that makes sense. With no future to move towards to, there is nothing left other than to stagnate and rot.

I've... never really thought about it myself, honestly.

But I am amazed to see that you put so much thought into it! Your theories are interesting.

It doesn't take much thought at all to come up with such theories. [Though one of them at the very least was more like reality than theory back in her own world.] A curious thought can often lead to such questions.

You're right. Curiosity does lead to all sorts of things.

I really hope the answer you're trying to find will become clear soon.

As long as one contributes to the discussion I believe I will be satisfied. Considering the seemingly immeasurable number of worlds that seems to exist, expecting one concrete answer would be foolish.
