[ video ] little drop of poison

May 25, 2011 16:30

[ Ah, it's certainly a bright and cheery day in Edel's room! His refusal of wishes aside, he's kept himself busy after the unsettling conversation he's had with Alexander. Still a bit troubled by it, Edel's sleep schedule has been faring terribly. On the plus side, he's met witches with kind souls here... on the minus side, he's shaken by his ( Read more... )

Potions? I'm curious. What kind?

Standard issued potions without a prescription. [ He takes off his glasses then to clean them. ]

And by that, I mean antidotes, suppressors, and healing types. Unless you're with the royal apothecary, I won't recreate malicious potions, high-grade sedatives, or bombs. It's bad enough some people still want aphrodisiacs...

A-Aphro-- [ ghdgjdg tmi /// ] --ANYWAY!!

Do you have anything with funny effects? Like that would make someone laugh for hours or something.

Oh! and something that heals burns, too.

...Fu-Funny effects?

[ He places his glasses back on and, honestly, is now looking at you... strangely ]

Why would you want to do that? Are you trying to prank someone? Mischievous deeds are for demons in fairy tales, not for alchemists.

...I can see about the burn healing, but that's something I have to personally do. Is it a recent burn?

[-! Ping!!]

R-Right, it is. Culinary arts are a part of my curriculum- you have to know how to mix food just like ingredients in order to get results, so... it's only natural to have them hand in hand!

[ he stares at him for a moment. ]

... You're a cook?
I'm a little surprised, I wouldn't have assumed.

[ poisonings? in the city of Splendor? that's a new one. ]

You would be referring to something besides the beans, I suppose.

[ though people seem rather more keen on planting those than eating them. ]

Yes, so I'm told there was an incident lately. I don't know too many of the details, as I've just arrived...

...but it's my specialty, you could say.

Where did you hear of this?

[ the locals don't seem strictly forthcoming, after all. ]

I'd rather not say. It's not important.
I can tell you I did witness it myself. I would not believe something so strange without some sort of evidence.

Dryads? What do they look like?

[ if it's anything like what he read in books, they would be... trees. ]

Plants infused with spirits. They're often gathered close together in forests and can have the appearance of young women. They're easily startled, but they can provide great medicinal qualities from their flowers.

So not too far off from the stories. Are they aggressive? Do they hurt?

...

They... [ oh, how to explain this? Edel loves dryads. He can't deny they're easily frightened by humans and yes, nature has a tendency to attack! No, really, they're just misunderstood! ]

They're like any living creatures. If you take care of them, they won't be scared of you. If you don't, well...

[Oh housemate... don't let that silly little mongoose scare you.]

Very magnanimous.

[ Oh housemate, I saw that look in his eyes. It was the look of someone hungering to tear into flesh. Edel's flesh. ]

It's my job. I take it seriously.

[He has a problem with prissy blonde witches, apparently.]

It isn't much of a job if you take no payment.

I fail to see how money will help me here if I have a roof over my head.
And.. it's enjoyable. W-Working with potions, I mean.
