[It's been a few days since Luke first got a
very unpleasant look at a certain aspect of his world's future. There've been times, when he's been able to push it out of his mind, let himself be distracted. But then there are others, like right now, where the emotions are just too overwhelming, and in the end, he just has to do something to let it

[Since Asch keeps the Seal on his person most of the time, reaching him proves to be no problem at all. But of course, Asch isn't about to answer right away. He's been busily working out details of how to manage his newly formed group of (for lack of a better word) associates, and stopping in the middle of what he's doing to deal with Luke is less than appealing.]
[However, he assumes this means Luke is starting to get the hang of things in Splendor City, and despite some irritation on Asch's end (a continuing battle with the concept that they're both different people), it's about damn time.]
[There's a delay of about fifteen minutes, at which point Asch finally digs out the seal and focuses on his replica.]
Oh really. What about?

[Long enough time had passed that Luke actually had begun to wonder if Asch was ignoring him. When he finally does hear Asch's voice across the seals though, he realizes that he hasn't really thought this through at all. It had taken so much to come to the decision to contact Asch, he hadn't really thought about what he was going to say. What if Asch wasn't from his future? What exactly would Luke say then?
He bites his lip after a second, scowling.]
Not across the seals. In person.
[Probably would make Asch mad, but it'd give Luke still wasn't entirely comfortable with talking to people across little gold thingys, especially about something as private and personal as this. Plus, it would give him time to think about what he wanted to say.]

[But he gets the feeling that it's something serious - at least in Luke's opinion - otherwise he wouldn't sound so insistent. If only the idiot would give him some clue!]
No. Unless it's something urgent the Seals are good enough.

[Luke is beginning to wonder how good of an idea this was. He was mentally stumbling in the dark, and Asch wasn't exactly being cooperative... ... then again he was at least hearing Luke out. And there were still those doubts: What if he was wrong, and Asch knew nothing? What was he supposed to do then? Why was he even asking this?
He frowns again... just... trying to figure out what he should do.]
...Asch, when are you from?
[Though what Luke's really asking is "Are you from after me too?"]

On closer observation however, it wasn't precisely the same. Where Luke's movements that day had been controlled and Kid had even remarked on their excellent form, the swordsman today seemed all over the place with his moves. It was such a striking difference that Kid found himself watching in silence for a few moments before approaching, wondering what had prompted such a change. ]
Luke?

At this point, he's torn. Torn between snapping at Kid to go away and leave him alone, or turning and greeting him, trying to stave off any questions... because Luke doesn't like others worrying about him or anything, and he isn't sure he wants to talk about this. Kid has been patient and understanding thus far, but Luke still doesn't really know him that well yet, so it's just... His grip tightens convulsively around the hilt of his sword.
In the end he just turns his head back towards the training dummy, though he makes no move to strike it.] Hey.

The targets seem to be taking the brunt of something that's displeased you.

... You could say that.

But the moment wandering eyes catch hold of Luke's form, the boy's attention widened. Even from a distance Ion could tell that was other was tense. The way his body moved, and how he attacked the dummies before him. Hm. It was time for an intervention from one of your BFFs.
So quietly the former Fon Master approached the red head, small smile forming. ]
Luke! Hello.
Reply
... dammit, with Ion more than any of his friends he doesn't want to show anything that'll make them worry. Because... how much does Ion know about what happened after his death? How would he react if he know that Asch died? That Luke probably died too in the future, was dying now? So he'll pin an obviously forced smile and half-turn towards his friend.]
Hey Ion.

What's wrong? You look upset...

[You're gonna have to prod him about it a little more before he'll say anything, sorry Ion.]

[Do you hear that? It's certainly coming from somewhere...]

Still... His strikes are slowing down slightly, becoming a little more hesitant and a little less forceful.]

The more I learn, the more I see
The less the world impassions me
The hungry heart, the roving eye
Have come to rest, do not apply
The frantic chase, the crazy ride
The thrill has gone, I step aside...

At that point, he looks around, trying to figure out where the singing's coming from. The voice does sound kind of familiar, even if it isn't Tear's.] Who's there?

Who the hell are you?
[If by "redheads" please don't mean that you know Asch. Luke especially does not want to talk to anybody who knows Asch right now.]

... are you talking about Asch?
[Because that sure sounded like Asch. Oh hell he does not need this right now.]
