[It is not a pretty sight, you will see.
Byakuran
is not looking his best as he addresses you. Though, he is paying no mind to this and neither should you. Tis a scratch, as the quote goes. Byakuran can barely feel a thing, really. He is far too entranced by his seal and the small fact that he is not dead, or in cuffs, to really pay attention to

This city is called Splendor. And I hope you've found some fountain by now, or otherwise some way of cleaning yourself up? You'll find that wishing for it works, as it were.

At least someone has the decency to be helpful~. I did - but if I had known all I had to do was wish to be clean, then it would have saved me a lot of trouble~.

The wishing thing can be damn convenient once you get the hang of it, and incredibly inconvenient when you don't watch out how you phrase things.
You noticed you've got a key on your person that wasn't there before?
Reply
Everyone should be careful what they wish for, hm~?
[He pauses and absently pats his pockets.]
Ah, so it has some use then?

And yes, everyone who gets here is given a key upon arrival. It comes with a place to stay, of course. There should be a number or a name on it to indicate where that is.

[A grin.]
Well isn't that convenient. Seems almost too good to be true, doesn't it~?

That's a matter of point of view. Many would rather be elsewhere.

[Byakuran is just glad to not be dead.]

Besides, a city that makes wishes come true? How many people get that kind of thing in their usual lives?
Reply
Sounds like the perfect kind of place for desperate people, doesn't it~? Though saying that; I can't imagine anyone passing up the opportunity to wish for their hearts desires~.
[He laughs. Calculates; considers.]
Can you wish for anything~?

The only exceptions that I know of is that you can not affect the comings and goings of people in this place. Which is to say, wishing yourself or someone else away from Splendor, or wishing for another to come here, is pretty much pointless.
Of course I've only been here about a week, so I haven't had the chance to try everything.

It is far too soon; far too reckless.]
That's a shame. I might get lonely with my friends~. [another chuckle.] But, it's still good to know.
Say I wanted something of mine that got left back home - could I wish for that~?

[Single easiest way to find out, after all.]

I might end up with a winged horse~.
Reply
Out of curiosity, what is it you'd wish for that sounds like a winged horse but isn't one?
Reply
A ring, of sorts. It's [a pause-] - dear to me~.
