he doesn't know. hell, he doesn't know if he should even want that, but...he feels he has an obligation to at least be there if one shows up, lest they panic or get eaten. and that's why Chey's even in this district, float-bouncing his way as best he can to get back to the entranceway. very important work. very important. but, swinging himself by a lamppost to turn the corner he finds...well, this post!

He shuffles closer, inching toward the furthest edge of her design. his ring scrapes against the ground as he goes. a particularly higher humming note freezes him and he drops to his knees, palms pressed on a line of chalk.]
