he was making his way back from the alpha district, keeping to the shortest routes as to avoid any unwanted encounters himself. fighting always left him in a foul mood, even with the satisfaction of getting to kick Izaya's ass -- and it seemed like his rival still had a penchant for showing up whenever he was most unwanted (which was all the time, really). it would be great to arrive home without any trouble for once.
his peaceful evening was abruptly ruined when he turned a sharp corner, bumping shoulders with a dark-haired woman that he couldn't immediately remember seeing before. he would normally wave his hand with a simple apology and be on his way, but this is Shizuo Heiwajima- even just bumping into somebody has the potential for dangerous results.]

[ he's walking so quickly, looking to his feet, that he doesn't notice Shizuo until they collide and when he looks up to see who it is he's just bumped, his eyes grow very wide-- just for a moment! he pulls it back, becomes composed. the voice he speaks in is an attempted disguise of his own, falsetto. ]
[it's strange, but something about her voice causes his hair to stand on end, figuratively- there's a familiarity in it that he just can't immediately place. he nods in apology, taking a tentative look at the girl's face.
-- well, he's kind of slow, so it doesn't click right away, miraculous as it sounds. but now they're just standing there in a sort of awkward silence.]
[ geez, you idiotic protozoan beast, can't you just move on and stop blocking the way? Izaya sees that look he's giving him, trying to remember why he's so familiar and he doesn't want to give him the chance to realize who he's looking at. he keeps his face down. ]

[ it's really taking all of his effort to be nice right now, but it would be even worse if he were to find out so he has to hold it together for the sake of doing what he intended to tonight. ]

MAN WHY WAS HE EVEN NERVOUS? it's not like he's stolen any girlfriend from izaya, right? but that's usually what guys wanted for him. ALTHOUGH THIS WAS IZAYA SO MAYBE IT WAS JUST SOME PRANK?
