[ On the other hand, Pongo is not so silent. He's making a bit of a noise, but not on purpose. Books are falling and he's trying to pick them up and then picks up too many and more books fall on the floor, paper flipping sounds and dry thumps as they hit the library floor. He winces a little, trying not to look at the librarian because he's sure that he'll kill him with a glare.

When he does manage to put the books back on the shelf, he walks over the encyclopaedia section, looking for a map so he can be a better delivery guy.

He sees the open book on the table and tilts his head, noticing the small figure hopping from word to word and he can recognize him. Pongo smiles and walks over him, hands on his back and a derpy smile. ]

Hey, buddy! [ He says happily. ] What'cha doing?

[all that commotion makes it hard to friggin concentrate, dude. chey's attention is split between the words and the noises from behind the shelves, gawking as the kid sails on over.

his lesson ceases as said kid speaks up. chey stare a while longer before replying.]

Pon-go hello I am here learning the words this place uses here now.

Whoa, really? Sounds like work! [ He leans down a little to peek at the dictionary. ] Did you manage to learn a lot so far?

[chey shrinks away to counter the lean, flickering his eyes from the book and up to pongo and back again. rinse, repeat.]

No I still do not understand the talk outside the seal yet no...

[Look who's in the library, and looking like hell.]

Oh. Hello. [He sits at the little table, leaning over slightly to see the book.] Do you need any help?

[look? of course look. this is chey's thing, looking. he crouches down to his knees, palms flat on the page as he does his looking.

speaking of looking, dr. stein you're looking drab!...drabber...? chey's not entirely sure how to word that in a way that won't get him in trouble.]

Hello I am remembering the sounds but not all of the sounds are in here now...[point in case, chey redirects attention to the page, pointing and tracing along the parenthesized pronunciation of one of the words. he retraces the parentheses there, then under another word.] I do not know the sound for these here now.

Parentheses don't have a sound. [Is that what you mean, Chey? He takes off his glasses and rubs at his eyes. He must be so tired. Leaning over, he inspects the words.] Which words are you having trouble with?

[chey shrinks, then tilts his head and peers oh hi eyes. he scoots backwards to counter the lean-in, one hand compulsively beginning to clutch and wring at his wrist.]

I do not- [he halts, freeing up his wrist and reaching over to point again. back to the pronunciation key for "artifice".] I do not know the lines or the sounds here how they are said.

[Ever since Nura's latest conversation with Death the Kid, she'd been pondering that perhaps, she's overstepping her boundaries. Certainly, universes were different. As is everything else in life, despite the similarities. Perhaps she's been that stubborn and brattish child again - the one she's been called by so many adults and deemed good by the Legion. It's just passion, she would tell herself. They're just trying to hold me down.

But there comes a point where the hero has to step out of the cave, into the light, and start to ponder the sun. And well, this is Nura's pondering stage. She's wandering the library in search of Plato and Sophocles, hoping that the ancient words of wisdom will help her clear her head.

But instead of old philosophers she stumbles upon, she finds her little alien friend, Chey. More like...almost misses him completely, but hey, this is what flight rings are for.]

[Up the imaginary steps, floating, turning upside down, so that she's peering down at the little alien and his activity, above him.]

[it's one helluva weird showcase for chey. sure, he's not a close friend to gravity, but all the big people thus far had kept their feet where they ought to.

he looks appropriately (or inappropriately?) baffled and not just a little horrified.]

Nura did something happen why are you the wrong way now is it safe-?

Hey, hey. It's fine. [She smiles ressuringly, then lowers herself to the ground, seating tailor-style next to Chey and the book.] Just using my flight ring is all. [She waves the hand with the golden ring on the finger with the Legion's L symbol on the front.]

[well that was scary and odd. but nura seems okay with it, so chey is................marginally less weirded out. sort of. eyes follow the waving motion of her hand and fix on the ring, taking a second to recognize it.]

It is the ring that made you the wrong way just now here?

[Recognising the tiny figure as he hunts through the library for anything he can find on football - be it written or audiovisual - Shin makes a small detour and watches him curiously for a moment. After a little while he pulls over a chair and quietly takes a seat beside him, looking at the paraphernalia cluttering the bench.]

Chey.

[Big Looming Presence distracts from learning, and chey doesn't do much but watch and watch, crouched over a page. he straightens up enough to continue gawking properly with shin now in sit mode.]
