This will be a soup in two hour's time.
[The vegetables will need a little time to cook. He puts a little butter in amongst them and closes the lid over them.]
There's bread in the oven, and I'll think of something to do with the eggs.

[That is a good question. He lifts the lid on the pot, stirs the vegetables around inside. He takes some fresh stock from another pot on the stovetop, adding it in bit by by.]

[He still hesitates a bit when his eyes give the basket of fresh bread a good look, slowly moving past Arabia (don't want to bump into or distract him) to grab a bun. He speaks right before taking a bite.]
