[[Fakir instantly lurches to his feet, grabbing his book and his quill tip, dropping the bread as the rest of the ducks quack with shock.]]

[moving for mr. bird's sake? why, thank you! it caws, proceeding to try and shovel crumbs up with its big, clumsy bill.]

[[That caw sends shivers down his spine. Like...a goddamn crow.

He takes a step back, the ducks flocking around him.]]
