Characters: Seto and Firo Where & When: Alpine District, Cabin #1 - Night of the 24th Rating & Why: PG Summary: The sudden disappearances lately have startled Seto and he decides to go and check on Firo
[ Meanwhile, Firo's slumped in one of the living room chairs, half asleep and in his normal clothes, minus the jacket. It's strange not seeing Kyo, his roommate, around anymore, but he's adjusted to living by himself. It at least means he can just fall asleep wherever he starts feeling tired without having to worry about bothering someone.
His eyelids are slipping closed when the sudden banging on the door jolts him awake. He tumbles out of his chair, then runs to the door. It's muffled, but he can recognize Seto's voice. It sounds like he's in trouble.
[ Firo's a little afraid to let go of Seto. Their conversation has made the made the irrational- or perhaps not so irrational- fear of Seto suddenly slipping away nestle into his mind.
He shakes his head and scolds himself for being so silly. Seto won't disappear just because Firo lets go. ]
Alright. How about I get you some water?
[ He contemplates leaving Seto in one of the chairs, but he'd rather have him with him. He puts his arm around Seto's shoulders to make walking easier. ]
[Even if Firo had offered Seto a chair, he would have just walked with him to the kitchen, so it's a good thing he's allowing Seto to just go with him. So when he puts an arm around his shoulder, the boy shifts so he's at the other's side, one hand still on his back]
[ Firo looks down and gives Seto a smile tinged by nervousness. ]
It's no problem. Really. I... I'm glad you came up here.
[ With all these disappearances he wonders if he should try breaking into an abandoned apartment and living there to be closer to Seto. The mountain is too remote.
He rummages through a cabinet for a glass, then fills it with water and hands it to Seto's free hand. ]
Really? [And here he thought--at least for a moment or two--that he would be a bother coming here this late at night. He practically sighs quietly in relief when he hears that.
When Firo hands him the glass, Seto moves his hand that's around the other back in front so he can hold it with both hands though he remains leaning against his brother's side as he takes a few sips]
Of course. It's always nice seein' you. I'm just sorry you had to come all the way up here.
[ There don't seem to be too many dangerous people in Splendor, but Firo knows that danger's always just around the corner. The thought of Seto walking so far at night is a little discomforting.
He lets Seto lean on him and keeps his one arm tightly around his shoulders. ]
[Running up a mountain in the middle of the night is totally worth it when you get to see your one and only brother and hold him. It put an ease to his aching heart.
He takes one last big gulp before lowering the glass and letting out a very pleased sigh. Giving the other a confused/sleepy look] Moving closer...? You mean like in my district??
[ Sure, Firo's a little paranoid, but not without cause. He has plenty of experience with muggers and criminals and has learned to be on the watch for danger.
Seto's smile makes the seriousness slip from his face after that slightly ominous remark. He nods and taps him on the nose. ]
[Does this mean he'll have to start fighting again and train a bit more with his katana? It's not something he wants to do but he has to protect the people who are left here.
He chuckles and beams] You're such a nice brother!
You need to be on guard wherever you are. But don't worry, I'll take care of you.
[ Seto's comment makes Firo blush slightly and laugh self-consciously. He doesn't think of himself as a particularly nice person. But it is nice to be complimented like that. ]
It's just what I'm supposed to do. I'll go look around tomorrow.

Now on full alert he flings open the door. ]
Seto?!

Yeah, but I don't want you runnin' around alone at night. It could be dangerous.
[ He nods, looking lost in thought. ]
With all these people gone, I could probably try and break into one of the abandoned rooms and stay there. It'd make keepin' an eye on you easier.

He smiles brightly] You'd do that just to keep an eye on me??

[D'aww he's blushing! So in order to hug the other, he puts down the glass of water and hugs him tightly]
Okay! I can't wait...It'll be so much easier to come and see you.

[ Firo hesitates, surprised by the hug, before hugging Seto back. ]
Good. And tonight you're stayin' here.
[ He doesn't want Seto wearing himself out with another trip. ]

Okay... [The trip did wear himself quite a bit since sprinting up a mountain in the middle of the night isn't exactly the best idea in the world]

All tuckered out, huh? Let's get you to sleep.
