Eraqus had spent some time sitting in the kitchen, thinking about how to approach Sora about his diary. It had been year since he'd had to talk to children his age and he had to be especially careful right now. He knew Sora had been sick and wasn't feeling well again. The last thing Eraqus wanted was for him to get any worse.

With a soft knock at Sora's door to let him know he was coming in, Eraqus pushed open the door and watched Sora reading for a moment before going to sit by him.

"Sora, I believe there's something we should discuss. I've seen your diary." And part of him was guilty for that, very guilty, but what he read had worried him greatly. He didn't want anything to happen to Sora.

Sora sits up the moment Eraqus comes to sit next to him. He crosses his legs, hands resting on his knees. He's sick, but that doesn't mean he can't be attentive. So he gives the old man all of his attention, eyes only blinking every now and then. However, what he hears...

"You read my diary!?"

He'll have to hide it much better next time he gets it out. But it kinda of hurts that someone he trusts would look at it in the first place. He hasn't written much, sure, but now Eraqus knows he was out late that one night.

That was what he expected from him, when he mentioned the diary. Although he had prepared for this, he still couldn't help the soft sigh that escaped when Sora yelled. After a moment, the older man nodded and tried to find the right words.

"It was out of concern for you. There are people here that can be very dangerous, like Vanitas. I just want to be sure nothing happens to you, Aqua would be quite displeased if I didn't take care of you."

And to his credit, Eraqus does look guilty at having read it. He doesn't regret it, not at all, but he doesn't want to see Sora get to upset over this.

Bad people... Why does everyone say there are bad people here? And Vanitas, a bad person...? Yeah, they'd not exactly had the best first meeting, but that had been entirely Sora's fault. And he's already looking visibly upset over this line of conversation.

"...Van doesn't seem all that bad. He's been really nice to me, and I even taught him how to play in the snow!" Sora objects. There's something about mentioning Van that really doesn't sit well with him. Especially since Ven said the same thing.
