Altair was the sort of person who found himself wandering around Splendor quite so often. Part of this was because he couldn't stand not knowing things, and part of it was his utter inability to stay in one place for too long (hence the reason why he was an adventurer in the first place). It's during one of these walkabouts, admiring the tits girls sights of Splendor that he'd encountered Nidalee.

With a sarcastic roll of his eyes, he slowly approached the large cat, not afraid at all; after all, it did have the pendant, the seal that other residents of the city did. Even if Altair's most recent wish had not, in fact, literally been for a feline.

Ah, well.

"A cougar," he said out loud, in a statement that would surely take anyone's breath away with the gravity of it. Altair had just demonstrated that he had the observational skill of a 4-year old that knew the differences between large cats. Is anyone impressed?

A person. Naturally, she'd observed a good deal of them since she'd arrived, and wasn't unfamiliar even before then. Still, the cocksure air this one had, that confidence that was required to walk to a large beast with no fear... It was a thing that put her just that little bit on edge. Much like how important it is for rehabilitated animals to retain that fear of humans, Nidalee felt it was crucial for men to remain afraid of beast. Those that showed no fear tended to be dangerous ( ... )

It's not often that Altair is caught completely off guard by something. It's telling that in Splendor, the fact that the giant cougar transformed into a girl is more confusing than the fact that there was a giant cougar just chilling in the first place like "sup i'm a cat deal w/ it".

He had expected a response via the seal, and certainly not in ... this form. There's a long look before Altair is even able to formulate a response, which is fairly impressive considering that normally he's quite quick-witted, quite able to come up with things on the spot.

Fortunately, he's able to come up a coherent response after a few seconds.

"Oh! A cougar!"

OMG CAT PLANET PLANET I WAS JUST READING/TALKING ABOUT THIS also hi new roomate notadalek December 30 2010, 08:34:52 UTC
Karin really couldn't leave this area anymore, due to the weather, so she had begun looking for anything new and interesting she could get her tentacles on, and, if possible, try to touch it, or even take it to study more later. Today was no different, and she had gotten into her "walker", which was always more of a "roller" to her, since it moved around with wheels, and started exploring the beach for anything new. Didn't seem like it at first, but then she saw something... different.

New animals are new things, but this was VERY different to her. She tried to stay quiet, but, she was a child at heart, and she couldn't help but squeal, even if just a little, and she tried to be quiet "A kitty!"

Yes, Karin. Yes it is. And it's sitting right there.

8D CAT PLANET LATE TAG PLANET CLASSY PLANET CAT hi :3c fearthewild January 2 2011, 08:35:43 UTC
There were a few things that peaked Nidalee's curiosity as she saw Karin approach. One was the mechanism that housed the strange creature, not dissimilar to apparatuses she'd seen in the League used by Urgot or even Corki. The other was... Karin herself. The large and even flashy sea creature wasn't something the huntress had experience with.

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but the cougar took little caution as she strode toward Karin. Ears and tail up, her posture was as cocksure as her strut. Slitted nostrils flared to examine the anomaly in the safest way and - Oh. She knew that smell. Oh.

Talking hors d'oeuvres.

Well. It wasn't as if it would be the first time she'd encountered something conversational and tasty. She just wished she could talk to it before she decided if she wanted to snack, that she could ask it- "What manner of beast has use for so many arms?"

HEY BRO LATE CAT PLANET TAG hi kitty! :3c notadalek January 7 2011, 04:09:55 UTC
Curiosity was more likely to kill the "talking hors d'oeuvres", considering she had no idea that, on land, she would be considered edible at all. Yeah, she was way too naive for her own good.

"Oh, sorry... did I wake you up?" She didn't THINK cats could talk, but, well, she could always be proven wrong. It seemed smart, so, maybe it just couldn't talk human? Still, even though she really couldn't understand exactly what Nidalee was saying, she could tell that the other was interested in her arms. "My arms? Well, I use them to hold stuff... sometimes, to support me when I'm on the floor... To catch food, and stuff like that.
