*Nessa turns toward the doorway, expecting to see Elphaba or perhaps Pfannee or Shenshen; when she sees instead a woman she doesn't recognize, she simple smiles politely.* Yes, I am Nessarose... and who are you?
*The longer she studies the face before her, though, the odder Nessa feels. Some of the woman's features are strangely familiar. She realizes, then, that she feels almost as if she were looking into a distorted mirror....*
Typist: Wheeee!! I'm so thrilled to see Melena here! Erm; now, embarrassment. Who are you, lovely typist??
You'd never think Elphaba hadn't seen her in so long, the way she calmly smiles. "Nessa, there you are. I was beginning to wonder if your goddaughter would ever be able to recognize her godmother." She looks her over. "You look well."
*Nessa smiles serenely as she catches sight of her sister. She strides gracefully to her and delicately kisses one cheek.* I am well, indeed--more than well. Oh, dear sister. It's lovely to see you again. I know I haven't been very diligent as godmother, and I apologize for that--but I've been so terribly busy with more than a few other things. *She beams, looking rather more proud than apologetic, though her tone is earnest.* I thought it time now, though, to reconnect with family, and that certainly will include getting to know my niece. How is she? And everyone else?
It has been an utter success. *Nessa practically exudes pride now, obviously thrilled with what she's accomplished.* With a loyal army behind me, I was able to subdue the ignorant radicals I came across with practically no effort... *She fails to mention the role her co-general played, since she considers Jinjur more a helpful tool than a peer.* It's really amazing, what one can accomplish with a bit of force. That was what I lacked while I served as governor, which is why I achieved so little. *As if to fend off any judgment on Elphaba's part, Nessa adds,* All these changes are for the people's own good, you know.

*For a long moment, she doesn't move, her mouth frozen in that polite half-smile. Then, she blinks many times, and simply breathes,* Unnamed God....
