Plumbing the Depths of Snark

It's not often that I crank off a blog entry that I'm especially proud of, but today's primary seemed to bring out my inner snark and so, like a complete dumbass, I handicapped the candidates' chances.

Ron Paul What? newcorinthian January 9 2008, 04:07:15 UTC
I think you're mistaken when you say that about Ron Paul. Ron Paul's campaign exhibits a particular passion with which no other campaign competes. I don't actually think Ron Paul is crazy--though I do think some of views are a bit odd, such as distrust of the Gold Standard and some of his past ties to the John Birch Society. I think he's tapped into a core Libertarian vote and into the anti-war vote (as he's the only Republican in favor of an Iraq pull-out). Interesting idea that some of Ron Paul's votes would go to Obama. Maybe. Maybe a bunch of them will just stay home.

But, for the sake of satire, I feel free to blithely label Ron Paul bugfuck because it's fun. And some of his more rabid supporters are a bit whacky, even if serious people like him too. I mean...a blimp, okay? My opinion that he won't win the nomination or presidency is, however, for real. I just don't think the votes are out there.
