There was a lot of, ahem, discussion after the episode came out, and many fans felt it was mocking them, which, yeah, I can see, but of it came across...

I think you forgot a 'none' in there. Makes much more sense. And yeah, Citizen Joe is by far my favorite clip show they've done.

You already know I agree with you on this one. God, I love this episode. Fandom does seem to have calmed down about it -- I swear I have seen people who ranted at the time talk about how funny it was more recently. I am too lazy to present supporting evidence, however.

And really, I want to see Jack and Joe kicking back with a beer someday, doing more deep Simpsons meta-analysis.

And bowling! With a lot of D'oh!s.

Yeah, I'm not too surprised that now that the shows over, people might approach the episode without the baggage of PTB vs. fans OMG!

Hah! I, too, love that ep. It doesn't feel like a clip show for some reason, even though it totally is, and I love Jack and Sam on the phone at the beginning, and the beer, and the bowling nights... :-)
