I haven't followed the whole discussion stuff, but THIS...

Freedom of speech means you can write and say whatever you want to say (actually, not really, as most contries - if not all - do have limits to their "freedom of speech"), but it also means that everyone else has the fucking right to call you on your bullshit.

Also? Freedom of speech is not an excuse to say stupid things and/or not listen to other people.

OMG YES. It's amazing how many people do not get this.
