To squee or nor to squee, why is it even a question?

One of the drawbacks of actually feeling healthy again is that I occasionally forget that, "Oh, hey, dumbass, you may feel great, but you still have that whole chronic illness that makes you not breathe when you do things like shovel the driveway in below freezing weather." So. Actually feeling good enough and pain-free enough to shovel? AWESOME ( Read more... )

Well, I know I squeed long and loud. ;) Been WAY too long since I've squeed about this pairing. And who the heck was upset by that?

SQUEEEEEEEE!!! I can't wait to see the cut scene.

Okay, okay, okay. Yes, I said I was limiting my squee to a certain degree. But really I just meant not gloating! Which I think you know already, but yeah. I've felt guilty at times for both squeeing copious amounts IRL and online, and for not squeeing enough. Because REALLY! SQUEE!! (!!!)

I think we're all just ridiculously sensitive to the "insane S/J batshit label."

also, I don't feel you were criticizing me or anyone else, just lamenting the fact we felt it necessary.

You know, it didn't even occur to me to limit my squee (which, granted, was all done offline). But if I'd had the time and inclination to mention it in my LJ, it totally would've been done with big letters in bold. And possibly sparkled, if my meager HTML skills could handle it. ;) Does this make me a big meanie?

Oh, also:

SQUEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GLEE!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess for me, I didn't really see it as evidence of anything except they're still interested in each other. So, I mean, it's cool and squee-worthy, but not in a 'omg, it's canon that they're having sex now!' sort of way.

And it is sad that some of us feel the need to dial things down. For me, it was more about not wanting to make others feel bad. I don't worry so much about offending them, but there's Sam/Daniel OTP-er's on my flist who were more disheartened by the clip rather than angry or offended, and I would have felt like it was adding insult to injury to make a big post about it. But that doesn't mean I couldn't go to the journals of my more S/J-oriented friends and squee there. :)

That's pretty much my issue. I wasn't expecting everyone to squee to the hills about it, but there was enough hesitation in the squee I did see that it caught my attention.
