Tornado watch. In January. In Michigan. Dude. The winds are pretty fierce already, and lots of rain. I can hear Grapefruit rustling about in the litterbox in the basement, which is her favorite place to hide in severe weather. Not just in the basement. In a litterbox. Where she will stay. For hours ( Read more... )

Be careful in those storms, you.

And awwww... they're cute that way, aren't they? D wrapped concert tickets I had already bought. Oh, and my manicure/pedicure receipt. Heh.

We just got a lot of wind and rain, fortunately, but man. Still weird.

And yes, sometimes they really are. :)

I've been doing okay, just busy with family and not wanting to write my thesis. I'm so sad, I know. :D

Knitting is...well, I'm not sure I have the words to describe the delight and comfort (and sometimes pain) I get from knitting. It's such a basic, simple activity that can create incredibly beautiful and useful articles and clothing. Friends and family always feel so special when they receive a knitted gift and there's great pleasure in giving someone something *you* made.

And let's not forget all the fantastic tools and accessories and yarn! There are more knick-knacks, gizmos, yarn bags, needles, etc to make your head whirl! And the yarn...oh yarn, the beautiful colors, textures, weights, types. Sorry, I'm starting to drool.

I hope you enjoy your knitting classes. And it may seem complicated at first, but with anything, practice makes all the difference.

I really did like it. I've crocheted for years, but I love all the novelty yarns out there, and have found they're just such a pain with crochet. And I think knitting them will be much easier.

have you read the Stitch N Bitch series? I am trying to crochet, so I like The Happy Hooker :)

I have it, but haven't read it yet. I was going to try and teach myself to knit (I did that with crochet), but decided this route would make me less insane. :)

Hee. Let us know how it goes.

I have my first belly dancing class tomorrow night. And my second karate class on Thursday. (Hubby and the kidlet have been doing karate since September and finally got me to join them, although I can only attend one class a week due to working the other night the class meets. Jaime (pronounced Hymie), the instructor, is okay with that. I had to run for *FIVE* minutes last week.

Oh, I've thought a lot about taking bellydance. How'd it go?

Knitting was great! I have two whole inches of a scarf! :)

I'm not going because of the accident. Hubby wants me to go and watch but I am sore, tired, and exceptionally crabby and don't want to do anything.

Just call me Grumpy...
