My estimate of an hour to finish the draft was a little optimistic (it ended up being more like three hours), but five minutes ago I flailed about gleefully and uploaded the completed (mostly - just missing the conclusion and who needs one of those?) draft rationale and emailed it off to my advisor, hoping he assumed I meant late Tuesday ( Read more... )

Arrgghh! At the very least you can print the delivery failed email. Far-too-many years working in Higher Ed taught me not to underestimate evidence of good faith.

Ha! Too true. I work for an academic department at a university, and have just recently made use of the evidence of good faith in dealing with a problematic faculty member. *pats my CYA file*

The bounce gives you more advantage. You don't have to specify when it bounced, just that it did.
