Oh, Julie.

I'm trying really hard to figure out how to express how exactly in character I think you've written Sam and how much I wish we had seen some hint of this on the actually show and how much I want to print out a copy and just mail it to TPTB because they clearly just don't get it and you do but I can't quite find the words.

Sam and Jack on the phone? Perfect. Just, everything about it is incredible and spot on and fantastic and not tinged with romance coloured glasses, just raw and honest and exact. Through the story, everything about Sam's state of mind is just . . . I'm right there with her and you. Oh, and the little bits about her uncertainty about Pete and her decisions to try and find something stable, something 'home' and maybe how that mght just be tied in to all of the replicator shit that's gone down this season is brilliant and beautiful and so right I can't believe no one seems to have really written about it before.

Beautiful. This is really great.

Oooh, like what you did to the ending. :) Nice way of having Sam build herself back up after she's beat herself down. And I like that she pushes forward because it's what she knows to do. (The angst still rocks, too. *g*)

Very nicely written, Julie. Lovely story - I think one of your best. I love the angst, the dead-on characterizations, and the way Sam finally just pulls it together but doesn't really deal.

Oh yay! So glad that came through. Because I do sometimes think she's running on autopilot a lot anymore. Doing the job because that what she's supposed to do, but not really sure WHY she's doing it anymore.

All she's done since the day her mother died is try to fix things, but she's still falling apart, piece by piece, day by day.

Just great. I really love this fic and you have such a handle on Sam. The angst was just perfect as was the conversation with Jack.

So, yes...fantastic.
