I just saw Slumdog Millionaire and it was pretty good. In an interview on Fresh Air, Danny Boyle explained that the movie was shot in English to please the investors even though it takes place in India. He ran into problems with the kids where their English wasn't good enough to sound natural. He decided to just let them speak their native language

This is fairly unrelated, but the part of me that is still 14 years old and obsessed with Leonardo DiCaprio is all "squeeeee" right now.

Sometimes it is the worst thing though! I recently saw the remake of The Women and I swear each line was actually just a summary of what the writers thought the character should say. it was HORRIBLE.
