Just when I think things are getting better...

I will never learn to assume that things will always get better, or my favorite, 'it can't get worse'. Because in my life, luck will never bless me. Jon and I were doing great until today at lunch. I don't even know how to describe what happened. He just sorted of snapped...like, I've never known him ( Read more... )

I'm shit at giving people space too. Personal flaw. You'd have to physically shove me away. Twice. or say something really hurtful n to get me to back off.
You can let it slide this time, but it's no good if you continuously allow yourself to be on the ass end of his stress. {snuggles}

He was the one that was angry, right? So give him a night to cool off. That's more than enough space for someone so close to you. Tomorrow, if he's still distant, he's either too embarrassed to know what to do/how to make it up to you, or an idiot (harsh? me???). Either way, don't let it go too long before you talk to him. For your own peace of mind. 'Needing space' is only good for a few hours in my opinion, and after that it needs a little clarification. When you talk to him - listen to what he has to say. Stress happens to everyone, all the time. Is this going to become his routine of dealing with it? Is it something you want to live through again? This is the first time you've had to experience that on this level with him, and how you deal with it now is going to set the pattern for how you deal with it in the future. Keep that in mind and never forget how important real communication is. Support and understanding are important - but so is respect. In fact, nothing is more important. Without it there is no love, no trust, no bond ( ... )

You're very good at giving advice, my dear. I'm serious. Holy cow. I'm impressed. I sincerely appreciate your time in writing all of that out. Thank you so much.

How did you know? That's generally the purpose of all my memes. =P

Mmmmm Rick Springfield. He was a sexy beast. Oh hell yes.

I don't know that I'm good at giving advice, but I AM opinionated and willing to share. :D More seriously - I hope things are alright with you and this constant stress starts to calm down.
