I'm also glad long dresses are back in style (now called the Maxi dress). My two favorite comfy sundresses are so old they are falling apart even after several restitching, but I haven't found equivalent replacements yet. If I find even one maxi dress I like as much, I'm buying multiples, so I don't have to worry about fashion trends over the next few years. :)
I'm not a long dress kind of girl. I feel they make me look shorter then I am. I tend to stick to dresses no longer then slightly below my knee even though most of mine are knee level or above. And yes, buy more if you find a great fitting one. I do that all the time. I found one sweater this past winter that fit well so I bought it in three different colors.
The right long dress actually makes me look taller, but the wrong one fails, its true. :)
I'm undecided on how the ebay dress makes me feel height-wise (handkerchief hem), but I'm going to try it with heels. Still, for $6, it was worth it for the free earrings!

This is why those 90 degree days bothered me -- I knew we'd be punished for it with more unseasonable cold!
