The ending part was extremely touching. And I liked the story Spock told Jim. I kinda almost thought it was Spock also putting his hopes for his future with Jim in it. Or am I reading too much into it? XD

Nope - you're exactly right! But I didn't want to come right out and say it - I think it's more interesting if it's some what ambiguous. But yeah, Spock is definitely hoping he can follow in his dad's footsteps and bond with a human. ;)
