We got about a foot from the storm, which was impressive for it's sheer length if not for the amount of white stuff it dumped on our doorstep. iresprite and I shoveled out over the weekend. terriergirl had "fatigue" which you may recall is a code word for soul-sucking exhaustion. Our swap gift was somewhat less well received: a pair of Yak-Trax.

After this weather? Who would scoff at such a thing? It was just this morning that I was thinking how useful a pair would be.

(keshwyn has a set, so I've had opportunity to see them in action firsthand. I'm generally pretty surefooted; that I nearly slipped and fell twice between the T and my workplace is a good indicator of how slick it was. I passed a UPS deliveryman singing "slip-sliding away" to himself. Mushy-messy all around.)
