OH MY GOOOOOOD!

This was just BEAUTIFUL. easily the best Watson/Holmes I've read...the style just fits them so well, their dialogue is just spot on and it's so heart breaking, them not finding a way to function together OR apart...

*sigh*

Oh my god, THANK YOU SO MUCH for that lovely, encouraging comment! ♥ I was so worried about this fic, since it's the longest fic I've ever written and it was really exhausting to write. (When I wrote the first outline, I thought it would only come to about 4k. HOW VERY WRONG I WAS. Dear god, it was like I was never gonna get to the end of the damn thing!) So I'm really very, very glad you liked it. :D

Oh, ow ow ow. Ow. Such powerful imagery. And it explains why Watson seemed SO angry with Holmes in the movie.

Are you planning a sequel? Because the plot bunnies were running rampant in my head...

Oh, thank you so much! ♥ They are just so ridiculously dysfunctional. I started out intending to write a fic explaining how Watson and Mary met in the movie-verse, since the events written in The Sign of Four clearly did not take place, but somehow the fic just transformed itself into this. I'm glad you thought it leads into the movie well. :D

I am not planning a sequel, no. (THIS FIC HAS SUCKED ALL MY ENERGY OUT OF ME ALREADY, I am so done with it.) But I'm very glad to hear that my fic managed to inspire some plot bunnies! :D PLEASE DO FEEL FREE TO WRITE A SEQUEL, I would be insanely pleased and I promise to leave gushing comments on your fic. *beams* :D

Oh, that was painfully lovely. Holmes tries to trade one addiction for another and fails on both counts.

Watson struggling to rebuild himself after tearing himself apart from Holmes.

which I admit to finding strange, because the Watson I know was never that openly hostile to Holmes. But now u have explained it ALL. yup, this is part of my new canon. :-)
