Zack was tired. Considering that he was a SOLDIER 1st class, this was not something to take lightly. Hhad been on the move for quite sometime now, searching for Sakura and helping to put out the fire. Because of all of the Mako in his system, he had far greater endurance than an unaltered person, but he was currently nearing his limit. And the worst part of it was, he wasn't just tired in the physical sense.
There was a weariness to his mind and soul, and it had begun ever since that little girl was kidnapped. While he had only just met Sakura, he had a feeling that she was just like Aeris, all light and smiles and kindness, with a heart big enough for anyone and anything. He couldn't leave someone like that in danger, much less a child.
Sighing, he ran his fingers through his hair and grimaced when he noticed just how matted with dirt and sweat and soot it was. Shiva, he needed a shower...
He shook his head grimly, pushing away the thought. He'd gone through worse before, on missions when he'd had to go through swamps filled with monsters for days on end. He'd have enough time for a bath later, when he knew Sakura was safe and sound.
Which reminded him of another problem. Sakura's older brother was somehow here in this world, and now he needed to find this Touya person, too, before he went and did something stupid looking for his sister. While Zack could understand how the brother must feel given the situation, having another person to rescue was not appealing at the moment.
Wearily, he trudged on, trying to ignore the grumbling of his stomach. So far, there had been no leads as to where Sakura could possibly be, but there was still a chance to find her brother and keep him from gettiing into trouble.
The lady who Sakura had been staying with, Yuuko. She'd told him that she could find the brother, scry for him. For a price. He frowned at that. He didn't have any money, and she hadn't told him exactly what it would cost. Fingering one of the new materia his Mastered ones had produced upon reaching their highest level, he wondered if one would be enough to pay for the favor he asked.
"Would it even be a good idea to give her one in the first place?" he asked himself aloud. He was iffy about just handing materia out to a complete stranger (Anise, he told himself, was a different story altogether), but it seemed to be his only choice at the moment.
He continued on, wondering how to find the teahouse Yuuko lived in. It should be easy enough to find if you come there with the wish to find that young man in your heart, she'd said in her reply. Whatever that meant. He wasn't sure if that was really the wish in his heart, but he really and truly wanted to help Sakura, even if it meant just keeping her brother safe for her.
A feeling came over him then, one that tugged him in a certain direction. Shrugging, he moved on, letting his feet take him where they will.
