Guy waited for Asch to finish cleaning up, fiddling about in the bedroom doing odd chores here and there. The bed had needed tidying, and a few things had to be sorted and swept and cleaned up. Really, though, he was merely biding his time, waiting for Asch's return. For the first time he was actually eager, happy, even, to be joining Asch in bed. Not that he'd been reluctant before...
Even so.
He sighed, partway through making the bed for the second time, and gave in, undoing the buttons on his uniform jacket. One could only delay for so long, and with nothing else to do, he'd look like an idiot just waiting around. In truth, a part of him wanted to be with Asch, but he didn't want to be overbearing, especially when Asch's face was still caked with that embarrassing white. He doubted Asch wanted to be seen again before the makeup was washed off.
The blush, combined with the white powder, had been the hardest to remove. After much frustrated scrubbing over the sink, Asch had finally completely cleaned his face. Afterwards, he opened his kimono wider and checked his bandages. He had been bending over the sink to wash himself, and it had felt uncomfortable. Luckily, there wasn't even a hint of pink on the bandages
( ... )
Guy reddened a little, wanting to avert his eyes, but unable to keep his eyes off of Asch. Instead he took a few steps forward, forgetting his half-open jacket, and reached up to tuck a bit of Asch's hair behind an ear. "It doesn't mattter. ... You look a lot better this way. Without the makeup, I mean. You looks like yourself again."
In many ways, it was a relief, and he let it show in his expression; while Asch had not triggered his phobia, it had still been a little disconcerting, walking around with him as if escorting a high-class lady. Which, as anyone who knew him were aware of, was something he did not do.
"I feel like myself again," he replied, blushing at Guy's compliment. It felt like that was simply how it was supposed to be now, just him and Guy. It was warmer than he had ever felt. Warmer than the fires than Mt. Zaleho, or the hot springs in Keterburg.
He reached up, stroking Guy's cheek. The happiness from earlier flooded him, and he wasn't sure how to control it. Happiness simply didn't happen to him anymore, but it had happened to him at the dance. Guy was making him happy now, and he was smiling brightly. He could get used to this.
Guy grinned, tilting his head into the touch, just a little. "You looked great before, but I kind of missed you," he admitted, hand moving to cover Asch's. "I don't think I'll let Anise do that again. It was just too bizarre."
It was nothing but the truth - as pleasing as women were to look at, it didn't suit Asch at all. He'd much rather have Asch smiling, happy, and male, instead of something he so obviously wasn't.
