Sakura brushed back a lock of hair from her face. Absentmindedly, she noted that it was almost the time when she usually has her hair cut back home. She pushed that thought to the back of her mind - there wasn't really much she could do about it. Besides, it would be a nice change to grow her hair a bit longer than usual.
She turned back to the laptop screen, reading her digital conversation with Tiki again. He'd said that he'd already sent one of his Tease - though she *still* wasn't too sure exactly that was - to find her. She hummed a bit, wondering idly just how it would do so when she and Tiki had never even met face to face before. Perhaps it used magic?
She was startled out of her thoughts by a black and purple butterfly fluttering lazily through the wall she knew led outside. Blinking in amazement, she held a trembling hand out to it. A bright smile lit her face as it landed daintily upon her palm, wings opening and closing slowly. She lifted her hand up so it was at eye level with her.
Recognizing it from the description Tiki had given her, she raised her free hand and tentatively ran a gentle finger on one of its delicate wings. It stilled under her touch.
"Hello," she murmured to it. "Tiki-san sent you, didn't he? You're supposed to keep an eye on me, right?"
As if in response, the Tease took flight again before alighting on her brown hair. Blinking, she got up and walked over to a dusty mirror in the corner of the room. Looking into it, she noticed that the Tease had settled in such a way that, if it kept still, it looked like a pretty hair ornament rather than an actual live butterfly (if you could really call it that).
She smiled and returned to her seat in front of the laptop. Somehow, knowing that Tiki's gift would offer her some small bit of protection made her feel better.
Still, she doubted she'd post anything on her journal about it. Robin and Allen (given his rather emotional warnings to keep away from Tiki) probably wouldn't like it if they found out.
