Matt was sure as Hell glad he was in a climbing mood. Hiding up in the rafters.. he grinned and pressed his bloody face against the beam he sat upon.

He contained his laughter, biting his tongue hard. The only giveaway might be the blood trickling down his face, to which he slowly, and quietly, tried to wipe on his arm.

Dante's eyesight was above average, and he picked up on the movement in the rafters right away. He pointed Ebony and Ivory upward.

"Get down or I'm shooting."

He giggled, "Ahhh.."

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" he roared, followed by another girlish giggle.

He moved away a little, behind another rafter.

Dante shot the rafter Matt was hiding behind. If the bullet penetrated (which it likely did), it would sail just above Matt's head. Hopefully, that'd spook him a bit.

"What I want is for you to come the fuck down and face me."

"You're right, he isn't." Matt was one cowardly and petty human, with a range of damage that was more personal than social. The type of humans that she usually mingled with were ones that caused mass destruction and high death rates, but her choices were rather limited in her current setting. He was also rather delightfuly active in causing pain and grief for everyone, so that bolstered her opinion of him quite a bit.

This Dante, on the other hand. Such experience in fighting! And it was sweet of him to oblige her, really. A battle from months ago surfaced in her memories, and she grinned fiercely. Time to see if she could remember that technique.

She stepped forward and bent her knees, holding her sword to her side with her wrist up so that it would trail behind her. The woman gathered energy into herself and kicked off the ground towards Dante. A second later, she was in front of the man.

It worked!

She brought down her sword and began a series of rapid cuts and slices.

Dante thought he was ready for her. However, Scarlett closed the gap between them much faster than he thought she would. She was skilled, he had to give her that. Fast, too.

Scarlett managed to get a head start on the slice-and-dice part of the sword fight, and Dante found himself on the receiving end of several cuts over his arms, legs, and torso. The wounds were of little concern--they'd close quickly enough. The issue was the fact that she had him on the defensive so soon.

Instead of trying to maneuver his sword into the fray, which would have been awkward and perhaps unsuccessful given Alastor's size, he ducked and rolled, removing himself from the movements of Scarlett's sword.

Once off to her side, Dante hopped back onto his feet and swung his sword to stop the remainder of Scarlett's attack. The sounds of steel scraping could be heard while the swords deadlocked. Dante pressed hard--if Scarlett faltered in the deadlock, he'd have the edge.

She felt the tension and power behind Dante's attack as they both leaned forward. Red and dark orange sparks came from the friction between the two blades, neither of which were willing to yield. A lull in the fight at this point wouldn't be good, because the both of them would lose steam.

She disengaged by stepping to the side, letting Dante's weight and exerted force take the man down as she took another large step backward until she was
standing directly behind him. Oh yes, he was powerful. But there was more to that power from his, something that she could still draw out --

An outside force, the same one that guided her to that quick pretty boy when she first arrived in the City, caught her attention, and she saw - no, sensed, rather, an insistent tugging. Someone else would be able to do that for you...The woman smirked. That would be a better way of going about it, yes ( ... )

Matt's eyes twitched as they squinted. He pressed himself against the wall, inching away slightly. That look in her eyes, it was threatening.

He blinked, unable to think of a witty thing to say in response.

"..I.. uh..."

The door was fucking steel, what was she talking about? even if he deadbolted the door, that asshole Dante would've broken it down.
