Haku turned around. The newcomer had a serious expression on his face -- something that matched the impression he got from the tone of the words Kimimaro used in the chatroom -- and was on the thin side. The wide neckline of this person's white long-sleeved shirt revealed a strange mark that looked like it was cut on the skin. Curious. He would have liked to see it up close, but its meaning might be rather too personal, and it was rude to stare.

The introduction confirmed his guess, and he smiled and bowed politely. "Yes, it's me. It's nice to meet you in person, Kimimaro-san."

And the greetings have been made. Haku wondered how this meeting would turn out; he had a feeling that the two of them would have a great many things to possibly talk about. But where to begin?

((ooc: ...yeah. Short, because the muse wasn't sure on what to put after that. >_>;;))

"You had assumed correctly the first time," replied Haku, smiling not unkindly. He supposed he shouldn't have been surprised that he had been mistaken for a female in his mission attire, given that he wasn't wearing his ANBU mask.

Haku carefully considered Kimimaro's question. There were many ways with which to answer that, from saying a simple 'yes' to giving a lot of background information. He settled for something in between.

"I know I died," he said, putting a hand on his chest. "I felt my blood boil with the large concentration of chakra that suddenly hit me here. But when I came to, I was physically well."

Strange, how it was Kakashi that he last saw before he died, and the first one who had greeted him when he found himself in the City.

Haku slightly tilted his head. "And you, Kimimaro-san? Had you gone through a door as with the others"

((ooc: It looks fine. ^_^))

"It's not a problem." There had been worse reactions than this, and Kimimaro's politeness was a welcome alternative to those.

He looked at Kimimaro in veiled concern (for it could have been easily mistaken for pity, and only a few wanted to be pitied) when the other shinobi mentioned his illness. No wonder he looked a bit thin. That must have made things more difficult for him, given the high physical intensity characteristic of a ninja's lifestyle.

"That would be for the best, yes."

Haku paused before continuing. "Yes, I did. But it doesn't matter now."

He still didn't know how to resolve his past with his present. His current existence, his lack of a definite purpose... everything was piling up on him, and he was drowning in the middle of the vast ocean of uncertainty. It wasn't that good of a place to be.
