A quick stroll, and then I'll be back. Nobody'll even realize I was gone. He left, his computer screen glowing brightly in the otherwise dark room, and went out onto the street. He didn't have to worry about anyone just then. Maya was safe as far as he knew, and so was Ema. Edgeworth... he admitted he was worried about his disappearance, but he knew the prosecutor could take care of himself when push came to shove ( ... )

"Mr. Phoenix Wright!" She declared, outstretching her hand towards him. Her voice cracked with nervousness, but it would be overlooked with her demeanor. Certainly. "What manner of foolish foolishness is this? I demand to know the name of the foolish fool who is responsible for this foolishly foolish action, so they may taste my whip."
A crack, very audible, against the pavement. "Unless of course, that foolishly foolish fool turns out to be you, Mr. Phoenix Wright."

"Ms. Von Karma, what are you talking about? What foolishly foolish action? ...You mean when you got here, right?" He scratched his head, confused by her ambiguous words, but almost relived that they were coming from someone he knew. Even if that someone would leave welts all over him if he didn't watch what he said. "When did you get here? Are you... okay?"
The concern he felt was both surprising and unsurprising at the same time. He certainly heard Franziska's voice cracking, and knew that she must be scared and disoriented. But he also knew that that would be his fatal mistake. He could hear her rant already, about his foolish pity that is foolishly given to one who didn't need it. Or whatever. And the whipping... that was sure to accompany. He lifted his arms a little in defense

Or so she wanted to. But... why did Phoenix have to care, anyway. She didn't want to admit it, but having Phoenix around made the place.. somewhat less scary. But there was no way she'd say that.
"Of course I am fine! A von Karma is never anything less than in total control of everything!" She snapped, although her voice was losing her edge, and she started gripping onto her whip again. Ready to use it if she had to, if Phoenix said something wrong, or if anyone untrustworthy tried to approach. "I just arrived in this foolish place ( ... )
