Kakashi had been wandering the city. He simply walked, letting the city take him to wherever it wanted.
In the beginning, it kept on taking him back to the Church. Kakashi was ready to give up and go home after passing by the iron-wrought gates about four times, but finally, the scenery changed.
Now he was walking past several crumbling apartments and buildings, which really could describe about 90% of the city. In the background, the staircase rose up, an always present object.
There were two figures walking towards him, and Kakashi recognized the charka signatures before the faces came into focus.
Uchiha Sasuke....and Uchiha Itachi. His former student and an Akatsuki member. Kakashi felt almost nostalgic.
Tamping down him roiling emotions, Kakashi stopped and stood in the middle of the road.
"Hello, Sasuke-kun. Its been a while."

Sasuke's head shot up at the familiar presence. He felt his eyes widen a fraction as they came to rest on his former teacher. The Uchiha suppressed a sigh of relief.

At least now he knew someone else other than his brother. Sasuke shot Itachi a dark glance before facing Kakashi.

"Hello, Kakashi." he drawled in a bored voice, his face and eyes blank. "Fancy meeting you here in a place like this." he looked around at the broken buildings and walls. "Where is this anyways?" it sounded more like a demand rather than a question.

Kakashi shook his head, it seemed that being with Orochimauru had not alleviated any of Sasuke's arrogance.
"Why Sasuke-kun, we're in purgatory." Kakashi said acidly, anger and guilt forming a noxious mix.

Sasuke stared at his teacher, trying to cover the shock that was threatening to gape his mouth open like a fish. He shook his head in denial.

"That's..." The Uchiha gritted his teeth. "That's not possible. How did we get here then?" he growled, still looking to his teacher for all the answers, even if it was unconsciously. "How did you get here?"

"Well, not literally, purgatory, thats what the Preacher said." Kakashi responded cryptically. "Besides, why would you be so surprised to be in Purgatory?" He asked, head canting to one side.
It probably isn't a good idea to taunt an arrogant boy who is undoubtedly more skilled than I am.
Kakashi sighed, "As for your second question, I have no idea how i got here."

Sasuke growled lowly at Kakashi's comment, his eyes flashing red for a brief second before they returned to their endless black. No, he was still recovering from his fight with Itachi. Now was not the time to be duking it out with his old teacher. He sighed in exasperation and rolled his eyes.

"Great. That sure helps a lot." he muttered. "Who else is here?" he asked instead. Surely Kakashi could answer that much.

Itachi stood quietly with almost a looming presence behind Sasuke. Currently he was giving the copy nin his undivided attention hoping he could pick up some scrap of information. His cool, gaze flicked towards Sasuke for a moment picking up the younger Uchiha's aggravation towards his former comrade. Itachi gave a short sigh before returning his attention to Kakashi,

"Is there anyone else here?"

"Define 'anyone'." Kakashi replied, feeling cagey, and wary of Itachi. "Do you mean people from Kohona? Or others?" Kakashi was not giving out any free information at this point in time, he really wasn't feeling all that generous.

Sasuke's lips pressed together at Itachi's comment; the younger Uchiha had forgotten that the killer was even there. Sasuke glowered at his brother before shooting Kakashi a cool glare.

"Yes people from Konoha," he said, hesitating at the end as if he were going to add an insult. idiot The black haired teen resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "Is any of the other ninjas from the Leaf here?"

Is Naruto here?

Sasuke left that question unsaid, though still the thought lingered in the air around them like a guilty mist.

There was only so long that Kakashi could drag this, especially since both Uchihas were giving him particularly foul looks. Sighing, he finally broke down.
“Yea, there’s other leaf-nin here. Gennma and Neji are here.” Kakashi kept silent about Haku, after all, they only said Kohona-nin, right?
“So.” Kakashi paused, searching for something to say. “What are you two going to do, now that you’re stuck together here.” Kakashi was baiting Sasuke, but it seemed like his former student wasn’t going to attack him, well, not yet at least.

Sasuke growled low in his throat as annoyance bubbled its way to the surface. He had forgotten how very frustrating his old teacher could be.

"Gee, I don't know." he said sarcastically. "Try to find a way back maybe?" his eyes flashed red. "Like hell I'm going to stay here with you people."

Kakashi knew almost immediately that he had to be with Sasuke or least close by. Otherwise, Kakashi was almost certain, the Church would get Sasuke, and it would be like loosing him to Orochimaru again.
Funny, it was like Kakashi got a second chance with Sasuke. Also, as he looked furtively at Itachi, he should try to keep Itachi away from the Church as well. It seemed like the Church was made for Itachi, but that didn’t mean that Kakashi wanted the Church to have a powerful nin like Itachi in its ranks. That would be something that Kakashi would like to put off for as long as possible.
“Ah, sorry Sasuke.” Kakashi flipped out a hand, waving away his earlier rudeness. “Would you like to come back to where I’m staying? I can tell you more about this place, and I’ve got some food, which is very hard to come by here.”
Kakashi desperately hoped his peace offering was enough.

Sasuke gave Kakashi a weary look, his eyes narrowing in suspicion at his old teacher's sudden mood change. He mulled it over for a second, should he trust him? Sasuke's gaze scanned over their surroundings. In a place like this, it may be better to just go with the flow... for now at least. The dark haired Uchiha gave a mental shrug. It wasn't as if Kakashi could take him back to Konoha anyways.

"Alright then..." he said slowly, hesitantly as if he were still trying to figure out what Kakashi was up to.

Because he knew the grey haired man was planning something. Some could say that Sasuke was being paranoid but you never knew with Kakashi.

“Ah…Sasuke, if you would follow me? And,” Kakashi paused, looking at Itachi. “Feel free to come as well, Itachi-san.”

Sasuke gave a curt nod and took a step in Kakashi's direction. He stopped and glanced over his shoulder with eyes that seemed almost broken. A second later though it was gone and Sasuke's face became indifferent. He raised a fine black brow at Itachi, his hand on his hip.

"Are you coming or what?"
