Who: Naoki (akkirasetsu), Guy (jewelofgardios), and anyone who wants to join in. Where: Near East Park in the Neighborhood. What: It's flooding, and Naoki can't swim. Rating: PG Open: Yep!
It was cold. That surprised him. For it to be cold enough for him to feel it...would the cold get him first? No, that was stupid. He would drown first. Any idiot could tell that. Although why he was thinking this confused him. Naoki supposed it was to try and keep from admitting to the fear that gripped him

It was so dark, he could barely see a thing. Guy kept his focus completely on that bizarre glow, legs kicking desperately, knowing how time was against them. They'd have to find shelter as soon as possible, in case the person had already inhaled, as well as to deal with the risk of a fever. First things first, however - he finally reached his destination, quickly wrapping an arm tightly around the waist of the person he'd been pursuing and kicking up towards the surface. The man - was it a man? He'd just assume it was - didn't react to it at all, so it was safe to assume he'd tried to breathe, which left him even less time. He fought the current wildly, eyes searching for an escape despite the darkness surrounding them, even as the water swelled, threatening to overcome him as well.
Dammit, where's that ledge I scouted earlier?! Did we pass it? His eyes narrowed, determined, and finally he spotted a high open window - or rather, a window that would have been high had the streets not flooded the first floors - in a building a few feet

Naoki wasn't conscious, not exactly. He hovered in a kind of muted darkness, his body only a distant sensation on the edge of his perception. It was still cold, too damn cold, and every part of him, even his thoughts, were heavy. It was as though a great hand had come down to press upon him, holding him there, smothering him. It was strangely - and disquietingly - familiar. That would make it fitting, wouldn't it? If he died here...
...I don't want to die...
He was still trying to breathe. But he couldn't move, couldn't do anything. It was hard to even think, an all-encompassing weariness settling down into his very bones. Here he was, supposedly the strong demon, and he was too tired to even try. His friends would laugh, if they were here. But he would see them soon enough, wouldn't he...?
With a muted groan and a final push, Guy hefted himself over the ledge and into the room, rolling once and coughing to clear whatever water managed to siphon into his lungs. He didn't waste any time, however, hurrying over to the strangely glowing man and rolling him over. Not breathing. It figured.
He'd dealt with this before, so there was no hesitation; he immediately leaned over the man, turning his head to the side and urging his mouth open to clear whatever water was there. Done. Curving his head back, he tilted the man's head back just a little, plugged his nose, and leaned in to breathe into his mouth. Four times; done. Guy hurriedly checked for any signs of life but found none.
"Breathe, dammit!" he muttered, leaning in to try again. He wasn't going to give up.
