Gaea was agitated.

She felt it deep in her bones and had she been more attuned to the planet than she already was, she would have lost herself in the wave of feeling and the take of the lifestream.

She briefly entertained the idea of becoming more sensitive to the collective consciousness than she already was, Cetra and dead and technically lifestream fodder, before discarding it for more pressing matters.

As it was, the only reason why she was only calm in this situation was that her own frustration greatly outclassed Gaea's in intensity.

When Cloud almost literally disappeared from Gaea entirely, she nearly sent her fellow souls and remaining spirits into a restless tizzy in her search for him. Zack was not any better. He had scouted and raided and nearly ravaged the lifestream, raking it for clues and any signs for his friend.

And now even Zack was gone. He was probably with Cloud now, with that complicated issue that was the tangle of their souls. It made Zack and Cloud more of ZackandCloud than should be healthy.

And it all happened when she took her eyes off of them for just a moment. Silly boys.

So now she went and consulted the other Cetras who were angry and frustrated and were channeling more of the planet's indignation than should be healthy.

"Do you know where they are?" She asked, even though what really mattered here was intent.

//They have gone to a place where they shouldn't be and they are not here where they are supposed to be he is our champion our weapon ours ours oursandnowheisgone!//

She flinched back from the building rage and irrational anger and was pulled away by a comforting light and was embraced.

//They are angry,// her mother says.

"They shouldn't be," was all she replied. "Mom, do you know where they are?"

//Not entirely. Love, if you go after them...// Ifalna hesitated. //If you go, you may not be able to come back.//

//I know,// she replied, //but I won't be happy without knowing they're safe.//

//Then speak to the planet, my child, and convince her to let you go.// Then she was gone.

When she spoke to Gaea directly, she was immediately refused aid. She bristled in frustration.

"Cloud is your champion," she reasoned, "and Zack saved your children from Genesis. They deserve your help. Let me go to them, please. You know the way."

//The path they are on is full of evil and darkness,// Gaea said at last, //you, Cetra-child, do not want to go there.//

"I don't care about the dangers," She replied easily, because it was true. "We saved you," more than once came unspoken but she knew it was heard. "All I ask is that you let me go."

//Why?//

"Because without me, those two are sure to do something that will get them in trouble that they can't fix on their own." She smiled, laughter and light bubblign in her chest. "Or if they're getting into some willingly, I want in. I can't just let them have all the fun."

//And of the Calamity’s Child?//

She felt a flash of guilt eat at her, thinking back to Sephiroth who slowly piecing himself back together after the last run-in with Cloud and the mental blender that was Jenova. She steeled herself, believing in him, in herself, and in Zack and Cloud, wherever they were. “Sephiroth needs to heal.” She said with firm resolution. “And I know that when he can, he will follow.”

//You are a strange Cetra-girl-child.// Gaea's presence faded into the background and she found herself in the field of flowers that she made to accommodate Cloud when he visited. And seated right in the middle were the beginnings of a staircase, leading impossibly down.

//They are there, Cetra-girl-child.//

"Time to go," Aerith breathed, stepping on the first step on her new journey. "I hope you boys aren't in big trouble. Again."
